Directions for Optimal Scent Throw and Performance:

For the best fragrance experience, burn your candle in a room suited to its size. Our 12 oz double-wick candles are best enjoyed in mid-size spaces such as bedrooms, kitchens, offices, and smaller living rooms.

On the first burn, allow the wax to melt fully across the surface of the candle before extinguishing. This usually takes approximately 3–4 hours and helps prevent tunneling during future burns. Once a full melt pool has formed, the fragrance will begin to bloom and develop more fully throughout the room.

For best performance, trim both wicks to 1/4 inch before each use. Keeping the wicks trimmed encourages a cleaner burn, helps control the flame height, and supports the longevity of your candle.

Our candles are designed to offer a balanced fragrance experience — noticeable and atmospheric without being overwhelming. Fragrance strength can vary depending on room size, airflow, ceiling height, and personal scent sensitivity.

Candle Safety Instructions:

Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep candles away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable.
Trim wicks to 1/4 inch before each burn.
Burn only on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Allow the wax to melt fully across the surface during the first burn.
Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris.
Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from one another.
Do not use a candle as a nightlight.
Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes too high, flickers repeatedly, or comes too close to the vessel.
Discontinue use when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.
Allow the candle to cool completely before handling, moving, or relighting.

Following proper candle care helps improve scent throw, supports an even burn, and extends the life of your candle.

Processing

Orders are typically processed within 3–5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. During major launches, sales, or high-volume periods, additional processing time may be needed.

Domestic Shipping

We currently ship within the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories. We offer flat rate shipping of $5.99 on all orders. Free shipping is available on qualifying U.S. orders of $69 or more after discounts and before applicable taxes.

Once your order has been processed, you will receive tracking information by email. Please allow up to 48 hours for tracking updates to appear once the carrier has received your package.

Warm Weather Shipping

Because wax products are sensitive to heat, we take extra care during warmer months. When temperatures are high, orders may be packed with additional protective materials such as thermal wrap or cold packs when appropriate.

To help reduce the amount of time your package spends sitting in transit over a weekend, we may hold warm-weather orders to ship on Monday or Tuesday for faster post office processing and a smoother delivery experience.

Please bring your package indoors as soon as possible after delivery, especially during warm weather. Cellar & Ash is not responsible for melting, softening, or heat-related damage once a package has been marked delivered.

International Shipping

We are not offering international shipping at this time.

Order Changes + Cancellations

If you need to update your shipping address, change items, or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to make changes if your order has not yet been processed or assigned tracking. Once an order is in transit, we are unable to reroute, modify, or cancel it.

Returns + Exchanges

Due to the handmade nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges on used candles, wax melts, or home fragrance products. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or missing an item, please contact us within 5 business days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the product and packaging so we can help make it right.

Lost or Delayed Packages

Once a package has been handed over to the carrier, tracking updates and delivery timing are managed by the carrier. If your tracking has not updated or your package appears delayed, please allow additional time and contact the carrier directly for the most current information.

If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, refusal, or failure to claim, original shipping charges are non-refundable. Reshipping fees may apply.
